FMP Talent Search
As Frank Miller Presents (FMP) nears the first anniversary of its inception, the independent publishing company will be engaging in a nationwide artist talent search. FMP Publisher, Dan DiDio, will be attending comic conventions throughout 2023 with the goal of finding the next best talent.
The portfolio reviews will be mainly for pencilers. Times for the reviews will be arranged with the conventions. Those interested in presenting their work can check the schedule at each respective show.

CBR REVIEWS: Frank Miller Presents Djinni
Ancient Enemies has already laid the building blocks for a larger narrative framework. In Ancient Enemies: The Djinni #1—written by Dan DiDio and Kevin VanHook, with artwork from José Luis and Jonas Trindade, colors by Hi-Fi, and lettering by Pete Carlsson—the story explores the origin of Djinni, and how he ended up on Earth.

After the release of Ancient Enemies #1 and Ronin: Book Two #1, Frank Miller Presents has another book up its sleeve: Pandora #1. Created by Frank Miller, this YA fantasy series is written by Miller, Anthony Maranville, and Chris Silvestri, drawn and colored by Emma Kubert, and lettered and edited by Pete Carlsson. It’s certainly a much different book than FMP’s other releases to date, leaning into the fantastical for an intriguing beginning to a story.

Celebrated writer Frank Miller has teamed up with former DC publisher Dan DiDio to launch a new comic book publishing company, Frank Miller Presents. One of its first releases is Ronin: Book Two #1, which is written and laid out by Miller, drawn by Philip Tan and Daniel Henriques, and lettered by John Workman. The issue takes readers back into the Ronin universe, which Miller first created in 1983.

Svengoolie comic books coming in 2023
Svengoolie and MeTV have announced development, with Frank Miller Presents, on full-length comic books starring the iconic horror host himself, Svengoolie. Two comics are set to release in 2023. As if Svengoolie’s Halloween BOOnanza couldn’t get any better, the big announcement was given to fans attending the Svengoolie panel at New York Comic Con.

Frank Miller Explains How Comics and Movies Convey Emotion Differently
Miller spoke with CBR at San Diego ComicCon 2022, discussing his thoughts on the strengths of the artistic forms. “Comics are a very good medium for expressing intense emotion,” Miller said. “They’re really best at expressing more intense and melodramatic emotion. They’re better at that than they are at the more subtle emotions. In that arena, prose fiction is so much better. And cinema is so much better. There’s nothing like a real actor’s face to break your heart or draw you in and so on.”

SDCC: Frank Miller Reflects on his Legacy & his Future
Writer and artist Frank Miller is one of the comic medium’s most important creators. Entering the industry at the tail end of the 1970s, Miller’s meteoric rise to fame saw him help reinvent Daredevil into one of Marvel’s most complex heroes. His work on Batman with stories like Batman: Year One and The Dark Knight Returns continue to define the character decades later. But Miller’s creator-owned work is just as influential. Stories like 300, Sin City, Ronin, and Martha Washington have inspired legions of other creators.
